Painting Tips
If you are thinking about doing some home improvement projects, painting might be on the very top of your list to do.
It would make a big difference to your house. Painting could cost you a lot of money if you hire a professional to do it, depending on the size of your house and the materials that you use, etc. But you can probably can save a lot of cash if you do it by yourself. It might be little bit messier but I’m sure you can do it. Here are some tips for amateur painters

Before The Painting
First of all, you should use a good quality of paint. The quality of the color depends on the degree and type of pigments, resins and water, etc. Better quality paint will give you more square footage on the wall per gallon and it will last longer. It may be more expensive but it is definitely worth what you will pay for it. So make it a point not to be so cheap.
Before you start to paint you should wash down your house, just to make sure there is no grime or loose dirt that would come off. Then for non-professional painters, I suggest you to use painter’s tape. Tape everything that you do not want to paint over, such as windows, doors, electric boxes, etc. before starting to paint. It might take some time to tape them, but believe me, it’s better than repainting or scraping the paint drops off from everything you didn’t plan on painting! And the last prep work to do before painting is calking or sealing everything that needs it. It might take some time as well but it also definitely worth your time
Painting Your House
This will seem easy after you finished your prep work. Start with choosing the applicators to apply the paint properly, which in this case, I will talk about rollers and brushes. Rollers are good for painting large areas and different textures of rollers have the purpose of creating a different result. Use long-piles rollers for heavily textures and medium-piles for lighter or smoother walls. By the way, before using rollers to paint on the walls or ceilings, use the small brushes to fill in the small places like corners because the rollers can not reach the small areas as well as the brushes. When buying the brushes for painting, you should choose the good quality brushes as well because the cheap brushes tend to shed their bristles much more than the good ones. You might have to switch back and forth between rollers and brushes depending on what are you painting. And then when you start to paint, always start from the top corner then slowly move down to the bottom while painting from the right to the left (if you are right-handed).
These are just only some real simple tips to give you some ideas for painting and beginning your home improvements. It isn’t really difficult but it does take time and some a bit of skill to finish. If you are thinking about painting your house (or doing some home improvements), don’t forget to do a lot of research before starting your project
It might just save you a lot of extra work. Good luck!
